Ashleen Hoover – Joe Biden

Barbara Conley – Joe Biden

Carolyn L. Bourland – Joe Biden

It would be an honor and a privilege to cast my vote for President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee for President of the United States. I met Senator Biden and his wife, Jill, while at a National Education Association Convention in Washington D.C. and have supported him for several decades. I became involved in the Michigan Democratic Party as a young teacher and was on the Executive Committee of the Shelby-Utica (now North Macomb County) Democratic Club.  After 31 years of teaching high school journalism at L’Anse Creuse High School-North, my husband and I moved to Petoskey in 2001 and became members of the Emmet County Democratic Committee.  After getting involved in the Kerry campaign, my husband was elected chairperson of the Emmet Dems and I was elected vice-chair. Together, we worked very hard to create an active and credible county-wide organization. Emmet County members no longer hesitate to say they are Democrats.  Throughout these years, I was an active Membership Chair, Communications Chair, Fish Boil Fundraising Chair, County Fair Chair, Thanksgiving Baskets Chair and Judge Ned Fenlon Scholarship Chair for the Emmet County Democratic Party. No longer Vice-Chair, I am currently on the Executive Committee and continue to thoroughly enjoy organizing these events and activities. I am also an elected member of the MDP State Central Committee and in the 1st Congressional District, I am on the Executive Committee and a volunteer on the Communications/Media Committee. I would greatly appreciate your vote for Delegate to the 2024 National Democratic Convention in Chicago.

Chris Cracchiolo – Joe Biden

I am running to help represent Northern Michigan at the Democratic National Convention. I am honored to be the Chair of the Grand Traverse County Democrats since 2017 and an MDP Vice Chair since 2019. In 2020, I was thankful to be chosen as the 1st District Delegate to the Electoral College. I also was awarded the Michigan Democratic Party’s prestigious 2020 Neil Staebler Award. I hope to help make the 1st District proud of our delegation, by representing the District with honesty and integrity. I humbly ask for your vote.

Glenn D. Anderson – Joe Biden

I’m a lifelong, proud First Congressional District resident. I worked in municipal government for years and now represent Houghton County as a county commissioner. I’m in my third term and am running for my fourth. I’m a proud member of the Houghton County Democratic Party and serve on the recruitment committee. I’ve attended rural Michigan caucus summits and am a strong believer in investing in rural Democratic candidates and local parties. I’m particularly passionate about protecting our democracy, voting rights, protecting workers’ rights, and protecting the beautiful environment we live in.

Gordon E Bourland – Joe Biden

After a career in education as a chemistry and biology teacher in Fraser Public Schools and as a consultant at the Macomb Intermediate School District, my wife and I moved to Petoskey.  I had been active in the Michigan Education Association and local politics before retiring. I got involved with the Emmet County Dems and was elected chair in 2005.  I am most proud of the fact that Emmet County Democrats are active and have had a strong presence in local, state and national elections.  I also had the opportunity to drive Congressional Candidates Jerry Cannon and Lon Johnson throughout every county in the 1st District during their campaigns.  I am currently a member of the MDP State Central Committee and CD1 Executive Committee.  I would be honored to represent CD1 and vote for President Joe Biden at the Democratic National Convention.

Jozef Jerzy Drozdowski – Joe Biden

Retired from the US Forest Service in 2009 after 32 years of federal service.  Am a past National Vice President of the National Federation of Federal Employees, affiliated with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.  Am a past Chair of the Iosco County Democratic Party.  Am currently a chapter president of the National and Active Federal Employee Association.  Am currently on the board of directors of the Iosco County Commission on Aging.  Am a CD1 delegate on the MDP State Central Committee.  I also serve on an Incident Management Team which is dispatched nationally to provide support on large wildfire and other incidents.  I’m committed to building a just society … as long as it takes.

Marie M Fielder – Joe Biden

I was born and raised within the Upper Peninsula of Michigan’s CD1 and I have lived, worked and raised my family within CD1 my entire life.  I received my BS degree from NMU, my MA degree from CMU and I received a 1-year certificate of completion in Infant Mental Health from the UofM.  My career was spent working with and teaching special needs infants and toddlers.  I traveled within Alpena, Montmorency and Alcona counties to work in homes supporting those families who had high needs children. I retired early in 2014 from the State of MI, in order to care for my father, who still resided within the Upper Peninsula and who lived alone. I was his sole caretaker for nearly 20 years.  My father passed in 2019. I’m a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.  My Native name is Waa Ba No Kwe (Eastern Sky Woman).  I grew up in a Union family.  My father was a member of the SIU (Seafarers International Union).  I am a retired MEA member.  My husband is a proud union member with the SEIU and he is employed with the State of MI/DNR as a Lake Huron Fisheries Biologist. Together, my husband David and I have 5 adult children, 4 grandchildren and 1 on the way-conceived via IVF. (We all should be so grateful that we have a Democratic majority committed to protecting family and reproductive rights.)  From 2017-present, I have been a member of the Northeast MI League of Women Voters.  In 2018, I worked for the Michigan Democratic Party as an Organizer for the 2018 Midterm election.  I continue to be proud of those efforts put forth to help elect and retain our 3 amazing women in Lansing (SoS, Governor and AG).  In 2019, I was elected to Chair the Alpena County Democratic Party and continued in that role, through the terrible first years of COVID-19.  In 2020, I briefly worked as an Organizer for the Michael Bloomberg for MI campaign.  The Upper Peninsula was my coverage area.  When Mr. Bloomberg dropped out of the Presidential race, I become an Alpena county volunteer Organizer for the Biden for MI campaign. In 2022, I ran for State Representative of District 106 and lost to Cam Cavitt (R).  In February, 2023 I agreed to Chair all Democratic Leaders in the 106th District.  Since February, 2023 our group has grown from (just) the Leaders within the 106 to all Democratic Leaders within the 99th and 107th.  This is the only known group in MI and within the entire Midwest, with this organizational structure.  In late fall, 2023 I took the Training offered by the MDP outlining the Chicago National Convention and the responsibilities surrounding those who serve as Delegates. In early April, I filed to be a Precinct Delegate in Alpena County.  I’m attempting to form a model similar to the DPDOC organization in Oakland county.  The leaders in that group have worked with me on how to grow our democratic base in northeast MI. I’m a member of the MDP Rural Caucus, the MDP CD1 and the MDP Anishinaabek Caucus. I’m applying to be a Delegate to the National Convention for many reasons:  one of which is that I promised my father just months before he walked on, that I would continue fighting for our nation and for all people.  He walked on, so worried and upset about the behavior of the former-President.  I’m running for CD1 Delegation to also continue supporting minorities/Tribal members, Unions, single parents (I was one for 12 years), civil rights for all – including people of color and our LGBTQ family/friends/neighbors and I’m running to to be a CD1 Delegate to proudly represent our President Joe Biden.  It is crucial that we all acknowledge the good that he has done for our nation. I am committed to to be a good steward for all Democrats within CD1 and especially for Northeast MI.  Our Democracy is dependent on President Biden’s re-election as is the soul of our nation. Let’s get it done.

Mary Jo O’Neill – Joe Biden

A Strong Democrat that has worked hard to get Democrats elected Locally, State Wide and Federally.  I am a Presque Isle Township Trustee.  I write letters to voters, postcards, text for many groups and write letters to the Editor in local paper.  I have been a Poll Worker, Challenger and Watcher.  Presently the Secretary for the Presque Isle County Democratic Party.  I have collected signature for many proposals with Voters Not Politicians and other groups.  Was a board member with the local League of Women Voters and am the local School Board Observer for the league.  I have several places on US 23 that I have put out Democratic sign…Large ones for President Joe Biden and Democratic Candidates.

Mitchell Treadwell – Joe Biden

Robert Leddy – Joe Biden

My name is Bob Leddy and I reside in Boyne City.  I am running to serve as one of two male delegates for Joe Biden which are allocated to the 1st District. By profession, I am an attorney who graduated from NMU in Marquette and WSU Law School in Detroit. I have had my own private practice in Saginaw for the past 38 years and in Petoskey for the past 23 years such I not only live but work in most of the counties in the 1st District. I am a lifelong democrat and proud father of a son who is/was press secretary/communications director for Governor Whitmer.  Since working on my first congressional campaign at the age of 14 years old, I have been involved in one aspect or another in over 64 campaigns on the local, state and national level over the last 50 years. I have served as a campaign manager, fundraising, surrogate speaker, organizing, GOTV planning, media production as well as many other roles.  I have been involved with the Biden campaign since July of 2019 and, since the campaign was not able to staff up before the Michigan Primary in March 2020, I worked as a volunteer surrogate for Biden full time as of January 2020 and then put together a volunteer network of county coordinators as well as supervised same in a 56 county area of mid, central, northern Michigan and the UP from ‘April to the GE in November. I again voluntarily took on this same role in February, 2024 as being a surrogate as well as organized and am supervising the Biden county coordinators in almost this identical 56 county area. The primary reason that I want to attend the convention is to be able to reach out in person to the contacts with the elected officials, administration officials and media on both the National as well as State level I have worked with or known over the last 50 years and to hopefully be able to have them agree to be surrogates at in person or even media events up until the GE across the 56 county rural area that seldom gets the attention that other areas of the State do.  As such, I would greatly appreciate your vote as one of two Male Delegates for Joe Biden from the 1st CD.

In that time, he worked in urban, suburban and rural school districts, as well as in charter schools. Aaron’s broad experience, including working as a paraprofessional, has provided him with a unique perspective —particularly when it comes to the benefits of union membership as opposed to working in a non-union school setting. Before becoming a teacher, Aaron, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, spent over a decade working in the skilled trades. He earned a bachelor’s degree in social studies and elementary education from Grand Valley State University and a master’s in science education from Montana State University.

He was elected to the MEA Board of Directors and served until retirement. Blake is a committed Democrat and has worked tirelessly to help elect candidates up and down the ballot. Donna Secor Pennington – Joe Biden

Donna Secor Pennington has been a Democrat and a social justice activist who started canvassing on her bicycle for Eugene McCarthy in high school on Long Island. She attended MSU and is proud of eventually serving as campaign chair to elect Brianna Scott of Muskegon to their Board of Trustees.  As a school social worker, she could see that making a difference for students should include not only working with them individually, but also through political action to advocate for public education, for school mental health and school safety.  She served in leadership roles in school social work associations at the state, Midwest and national levels and has been a member of the MEA and AFT. After retirement, she continued to work until 2021 as an adjunct social work instructor for WMU.  Donna moved to Muskegon in 2007 and got involved with the Muskegon County Democratic Party, as well as the Progressive Democratic Women’s Caucus (PDWC), that provides funds and resources to elect women and progressive men to local and state public offices. As the current president of the PDWC, she has helped to transform the organization into a major political force in Muskegon County, with over 150 active members. She also serves as the first Vice-Chair of the 3rd C.D., after 4 years as a Vice-Chair of the former 2nd C.D. She believes that women have been energized by the outrageous attacks on their reproductive rights and will be a driving force to elect Democrats on November 5, 2024!

Ellen M. Beal – Joe Biden

Ellen Beal has been a lifelong Democrat who started working on campaigns starting in High School. She is originally from Ingham County where she served on the Ingham County Commission for three terms and on the Lansing City Council from 1992 – 2000. In 2021, she became the Candidate Recruitment Chair for the MDCP and successfully recruited and trained candidates to run for the County Commission. In 2022 the Democrats defeated right wing extremists who had taken over the Commission by restoring a Democratic majority on the County Board. She currently serves on the Board of the Progressive Democratic Women’s Caucus as the Chair of the Screening and Endorsement Committee and is the Secretary of the Third Congressional District Committee.

Jacob Welch – Joe Biden

My name is Jacob Welch and I’m a proud Democrat from West Michigan. In my lifetime, we have seen historic progress in the values that I was raised on. I was born in Grand Haven, and lived most of my life in trailer parks, and I want to make sure that all people regardless of origin are represented in this party. I’ve been very glad to help organize Ottawa County, especially in the shadow of Ottawa Impact, and I want to share those experiences in Chicago. I am the former president of the Michigan College Democrats and the GVSU College Democrats. Thank you!

Jessica Riley – Joe Biden

As a life-long Democrat, I have been active with the Kent County Democratic Party for the past ten years. I have been a member of the Membership Committee since 2016 and served as Chair for one term. I am currently working on student outreach at the college level. I have walked in parades, knocked on doors, been a Precinct Delegate for the past five terms and a Precinct Captain. I am a member of the National Writers Union and I am currently one of two appointed Democrats to the Kent County Board of Canvassers. When not advocating for Democratic causes, I can be found working on my seasonal fair-trade business and I am a licensed private investigator and genetic genealogist. As a committed and loyal Democrat, I would be grateful and honored to be a delegate to the Democratic National Convention on behalf of President Biden. Besides his policies, President Biden is a personal role model to me with how he has managed to be successful while dealing with grief and how he has navigated the political world as a Catholic Democrat.

Joseph “Jeff” Pietrowski – Joe Biden

Joshua Irving Ferguson – Joe Biden

Lynn Shackelford – Joe Biden

I’m a life-long Michigander and Democrat, raised in Grand Rapids. I earned my Masters in Education at Aquinas College and am currently a Faculty Development Specialist for the Office of Medical Education at Corewell Health. Married 34 years, my husband and I have 3 children.

Mark Gleason PhD – Joe Biden

In my long history of being a democrat, I have been a volunteer for many campaigns. While I have never had a leadership role or been a national delegate, I have memories of helping to stuff envelopes, make calls and go door to door for many candidates. These memories go back decades. I can remember meeting Senator Hart while volunteering for his last campaign, shaking Robert Kennedy’s hand in 1968 as well as working on Jean McKee’s 1972 congressional campaign against Jerry Ford. So, I have a life-long commitment to our party. Today I am retired and wanting to become more active. As a delegate for President Biden, I can represent many groups. In my professional career I have served in law enforcement, as a National Park Ranger, an environmental educator trained by Al Gore and even worked in the Middle-east in the oil/gas industry.  A diverse career that ended as a University Professor similar to first lady Jill Biden. I believe that my background will serve to promote our parties’ interests to a wide range of individuals which is what we need to do to promote our goals. I look forward to helping President Joe Biden win re-election.

Pamela Redd – Joe Biden

I would like to be a District-level Delegate because I have made it my purpose to make a difference in any area, I can assist in. I have been working for promoting and contributing to the Democratic Party in varies areas.   Currently, I am the VP with the Progressive Democratic Women Caucus. There I have organized trips, planned events, and assisted in developing ways to make my community educated in how government works. Also includes assisting people that would like to run for office.  I am also VP of the Muskegon County Democratic Party Black Caucus. There I also put together debates, locate and trained people to run for office. I have worked with young people training them to canvass and hold fundraisers. I attended Grand Valley State University with a degree in Advertising and Public Relations, with an associate degree in Marketing.  In 2024, we must work hard to save our democracy. Watching my granddaughters lose the rights that so many people fought and died for is ridiculous and I will do whatever I can to prevent and/or restore their rights, beginning with being a District -Level Delegate.

In addition, I am an active member of the Kent County Democratic Party, the third congressional district, and the State Central Committee of the MDP.  As a volunteer for campaigns, participant in fundraisers, canvasser, phone banker, and active attendee at meetings and conventions I put my resources behind our party and our candidates. Throughout my life, I have endeavored to serve my community be it caring for the uninsured/ under insured or serving in the military. Having done this, overtime,  I realized that I can serve a more diverse population through politics. Unfortunately, the loss of my husband to suicide, family needs, and the onset of COVID delayed my ability t. o enter the political arena until now. If selected to represent our area as a delegate,  I want  to ensure the voices of a diverse population are heard and represented on the platform of the Democratic Party and that issues such as minority rights, access to healthcare, and voting rights are vigorously defended and improved. Thank you for your consideration

I was a district librarian for a small school district in Indiana for 18 years and a Special Needs teacher for a total of twelve years. I became more involved, and more aware, of Michigan politics by joining the grassroots efforts of Voters Not Politicians to end gerrymandering. From that springboard I became involved with the Cass County Democrats. The Democratic Party is the party that is working toward enshrining our rights and not limiting them. I feel a duty to put my efforts into making sure this happens for our future generations.  It would be an honor to becoming a Michigan delegate at the National Convention and to be part of proud democracy defenders electing a presidential candidate who understands that it’s the people that makes this country great.

As a woman of color, I would be proud to have a seat at such a large table with my fellow Dems. GO BLUE!

Originally from Chicago but now living in Bridgman, Michigan located in CD 5. I have been in SW Michigan since 1990 and love all that our small towns offer to us. The combination of rural farming communities and small towns in Harbor Country is what makes our district so unique. Since 2016 I have been snapped awake to how delicate and fragile our democracy has become. I consider myself an activist for electing democrats up and down the ballot and have been engaged in making this happen not only in our district but across the United States. I would be honored to represent CD 5 at the Democratic National Convention in August. Thanks in advance for your support.

Alec Hughes – Joe Biden

Hello! My name is Alec and I am running to be District-Level Delegate to the DNC. I’m a lifelong Michigander and proud student at the University of Michigan, where I serve as co-chair of our College Democrats chapter, in addition to founding our campus’s Students for Biden Chapter. Like many of my fellow students, I am a Democrat because I know the need to tackle the greatest issues of our time – protecting democracy, fighting climate change, ensuring equal rights and equal opportunity for all – and I know that it takes an upswell of driven, enthusiastic people to make lasting change for our community and for our country. I have worked tirelessly to organize events like dialogues, teach-ins, and socials that both appeal to existing members and attract new faces because I believe that building a sense of community is crucial to inspiring new voters to not only vote, but campaign for Democrats up and down the ballot and become leaders in their own right. As Delegate, I will be a champion for our community and work to present a party that reflects the same energy and enthusiasm which I have witnessed as a student leader and community member. Only together, we can and will win.

Alexandra Fiddes – Uncommitted

Allison Rosemary Doroshewitz – Joe Biden

As a native Michigander, I know the importance of our state on the national election stage. Specifically, I have seen the importance of the youth vote at our universities and colleges in electing Democratic candidates and passing democratic policies. I am sophomore at the University of Michigan studying psychology and neuroscience with a minor in political science. I am passionate about encouraging students to vote and engage in democracy. Therefore, I am involved with Turn Up -Turn Out, an organization on campus that focuses on voter registration and education. As a delegate, I would represent the average young voter and show that young people can and should have a place in the Democratic party. Growing up and being engaged in our community, I know what issues are important to young voters. I am a good communicator who has a strong understanding of both domestic and international policy and issues, thus I am able to advocate for Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee.

Andrea Pierce – Joe Biden

Aanii Hello  I am Andrea Pierce, Little  Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians citizen, my people live in upper Michigan.  I am a Precinct Delegate in Ypsilanti township, and also Chair and Co-Founder of the Anishinaabek Caucus. We represent the Native Americans of Michigan, the ONLY caucus in Michigan that represents Native Americans.  I am also the chair of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians Election Board.  We literally run the elections for my tribe. I believe in fair elections where everyone’s vote counts and we have amazing candidates. The MDP has 9 opportunities for Native Americans to become a DNC delegate.  We need a voice at the DNC Convention. The Native American people need to be represented. I would like to be one of those 9 people.  I believe that we need President Joe Biden to win this race, he has been a champion for the water and has recently issued National Standards for PFAS, and is working to replace all of the lead pipes in the United States. This will provide clean, safe drinking water to American citizens, I applaud this work that he is leading. Please vote for me.  Miigwech  Thank you.

Cassidy Creech – Joe Biden

Born nearly a month premature, I spent the first several days of my life fighting to stay alive. My childhood and adolescence were spent counting the sacrifices that my parents made to give my sister and me the best possible future as they tirelessly worked to gain a foothold for themselves. I’ve always believed in the promise of America, with a stubbornness forged by summer evenings filled with stories of my grandmother’s flight to the United States after a childhood in a Polish refugee camp and my grandfather’s dedication to his family working as a union laborer at the Willow Run plant in Ypsilanti. My family raised me to value hard work, always with the belief that it was my responsibility to use the rewards of that work to reach down and pull up those whose bootstraps had failed them. Yet, as I moved from high school into college, racking up tens of thousands of dollars in student loan debt, and from college into a career as a high school English teacher, an increasingly nagging feeling that something has gone wrong with that American promise was inescapable. If there is one thing that I have always known, it’s that we are not guaranteed tomorrow, and it is maybe truer now than it has been in living memory that we need each other. We have a generational obligation as Democrats to use our voices and our platforms to carry on the fight of civil rights leaders and our union brothers and sisters, to restore faith in our democracy and fight disinformation in all its forms, and to ensure equal opportunity for all current and future Americans. I am convinced that I survived to be a part of that fight, and I am honored to be considered as a delegate for our district at this year’s Democratic National Convention.

Hello there,  My name is Linda Gates.  I can’t attend the district convention because I am taking my MAGA brother to Gettysburg that weekend.   (Please your thoughts and prayers are most welcome).  I am recently retired from a research position at U of M.  I started my career during the Reagan years and 40 years of being paid by soft, very hard to come by money has made me personally aware of the need for change.  We need to invest in our citizens again not corporations.  I love Joe and think he is on the right track.  Tax the Rich, educate our youth, build infrastructure that will serve us long into the future, with renewable energy and a cyclic economy.  Thanks for reading this, let’s get it done.

Patricia Dei Myles – Joe Biden

I’m a member of UAW Local 6000 for 30 years and alarmed at the escalating disparity of wealth in the U.S.  With more millionaires and billionaires in this country comes more environmental extraction such as fracking, deforestation and mining. We should eat the rich as unionist Shawn Fain’s shirt said since we can’t afford them, environmentally or socially.  We have racial conflict because we’re fighting over less and less, an engineered powder keg to deflect our attention from the crux of the problem- money it’s propensity to concentrate, thus corrupt.  I’m also a member of Chippewas of Rama First Nation and believe that a society with a cooperative, sharing way is most sustainable and wealthy(peaceful and healthy).

RJ (Robert John) Doroshewitz – Joe Biden

Every four years, the youth vote is the talk of the town. What are we going to do, who are we going to vote for? As a youth voter and college student, I’ll tell you: we’re going to turn out big for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, and I think it’s important to have that enthusiasm on display at the convention. However, we need to keep our eyes on the ball to ensure that the reality holds. Michigan is going to be a tough fight, but together we can deliver it for the president just as we did four years ago, as long as our voters get the focus they deserve. Despite our status as a perennial swing-state, the needs of the rust belt often get overlooked by the national party. While there might not be as many Democrats here as there are on the coasts, we can still make sure that our voices are not drowned out. As a Public Policy student at the George Washington University down in D.C., I had the honor of serving our district as a congressional intern, spending most of the day on the phone talking to our neighbors. This has given me a lot of insight and first-hand experience in how the people of Michigan’s 6th feel–what they’re happy about, upset about, or concerned about in the upcoming election–and puts me in a position to be a strong advocate for those concerns at the convention, and make sure that our district gets the seat that it deserves at the table. I would be honored to be chosen as one of your district-level delegates, and hope that you will consider my candidacy.

Additionally, at just 18 years old, she stands as one of the youngest candidates running in this congressional district. Stella is beyond excited to contribute to the reelection of President Biden and to stand against an authoritarian leader that merely seeks to strip away our fundamental rights. That being said, she is determined to bring a fresh, youthful perspective to the DNC while also recognizing the holistic viewpoints of individuals her age, ensuring that their diverse opinions are properly represented and valued.

After two-plus decades with the Michigan Education Association, I’m proud to work every day to get our students and educators the resources they need to be successful.  That includes working to elect friends of public education — and this year, that means re-electing President Joe Biden, who’s commitment to our schools, kids, parents, teachers and support staff has been historic. We can’t afford to return to a Betsy DeVos-controlled Department of Education, which is just one of the many reasons why I’m running to be a Biden delegate this summer in Chicago.

With your vote, I aim to amplify our voices and advocate for progressive change on a national platform.

Barry Lepler – Joe Biden

I am currently doing what I have done for many years, working on political campaigns. The one I am spending my time on now is for school board. My goal is to stop so called “crazies” from getting elected. I have met with two candidates, designed campaign literature for them and outlined a campaign plan for them to win. I would be happy to share this with anyone else with the same goal, I also contacted two State Representatives who I have consulted with in the past who face primary challenges to offer my advice. I would appreciate your consideration to become a delegate.

Brenda Joyce Carter – Joe Biden

I worked hard to fight for working families, and with success! We repealed Right to Work (Regina Weiss), a policy that undermined workers’ rights, and restored Prevailing Wage (Brenda Carter), which ensures fair compensation for labor! This means our workers are now earning better wages, leading to improved living standards for our families. Not only did I restore prevailing wages for our workers, but I also passed into law legislation to help non-instructional education workers have the right to fight for their jobs! Finally, I fought to keep our communities safe by sponsoring into law universal background checks to prevent gun violence. We must continue to protect our seniors’ pensions, give more money back to our low-income families, protect a woman’s right to choose, and protect our right to choose who we love! Please elect Brenda Carter. I promise I will continue to work harder for you!

Jessica Lumbreras – Joe Biden

Hello Democrats! I’m a political organizer and mom in Berkley. My family chose Oakland County because of the friendly neighborhoods and great schools. I started my career as an intern for State Rep. Vicki Barnett and landed as a Member and Political Organizer for the Michigan Education Association. It’s been an honor to help public school employees use their voice to win elections. In my free time, I love hanging out with my friends enjoying all the fun things to do in metro Detroit. Issues that are important to me include affordable housing and childcare for working families, reproductive rights and strong public schools.

Karen Amato – Joe Biden

Laura Dickerson – Joe Biden

My name is Laura Dickerson, UAW Region 1A Director and long time Democrat out of Congressional District 11 in Farmington Hills, MI. I have been a member of the Michigan Democratic Party and am running for the District Level Delegate position for Joe Biden. In my position as Regional Director, I have a huge responsibility in the politics in Michigan. Engaging in the political arena for the betterment of the community and UAW members, as a whole. The democratic party has had huge wins here in Michigan, I want to make sure we keep it that way and maintain that on a National scale. Some of the wins, like repealing right to work, were based off the Dems we have been able to elect in Michigan. When you look at the White House, Joe Biden has proven that he is the most pro-labor President we’ve ever had. The support he has shown Labor is tremendous. We have a long way to go and many Legislative victories to continue. So, I want to make sure I get elected to the district level delegate position to be a part of and continue these victories for the working men and women in this country.

Maria Marcotte – Joe Biden

Murray Gorchow – Joe Biden

Renee S. Thornton – Joe Biden

Hi, everyone! My name is Renee S. Thornton. I’m 29 years old, a proud University of Michigan Alum, and have a passion for politics. I Graduated from U of M – Dearborn with a Bachelor of Arts degree (Communication – Major, Political Science – Minor). From a young age, both my dad (who was a firefighter) and my mom (who is a nursing professor) have instilled in me the values of democracy, encouraged my participation in campaigning, and the importance of exercising my right to vote. I’ve been involved in my local and state clubs and was recently appointed as Treasurer of the MI 11 Dems club. My hobbies include reading, singing, dancing, traveling, spending time with my family, and attending Michigan football games. I set a goal for myself when my birthday came around this past February, and it’s this. To do everything I can to ensure that my last birthday in my 20s is NOT the last one that we’re a democracy!

Robert Lloyd Cavin Jr – Joe Biden

Ruchi Bhave – Joe Biden

Sharon Baseman – Joe Biden

I’ve been active in the party since about 2004 after I felt a second election had been stolen. I was in my late 50s at the time. I’ve volunteered on several congressional races starting in 2006, including Rep. Lawrence’s 2012 and 2014 primaries and every presidential race since 2008, as well as both of Gov. Whitmer’s races. I’ve collected and validated thousands of signatures for candidates and petition drives. Over the years I’ve served on the Exec committee of OCDP (since 2008); 9th CD and 11th CD District Committees; State Central (officer at large); Fems for Dems board (member since its inception and now vice chair); DSOC board (formerly Oak Park-Huntington Woods-Royal Oak Twp. Dem club). I’m one of the Michigan team leads for Women for Biden-Harris this year and was on the Michigan leadership team for Pres. Biden’s 2020 run. Since I was a young girl I’ve wanted to be a delegate at the DNC. In 2020, I was finally an alternate (I think I was elevated), but because of COVID, here was no in-person convention. Being a delegate this year would fulfill a lifelong goal. I turn 75 right in the middle of the convention and this would be an amazing birthday present–who knows what the future may hold, and it may be my last shot at it.

Kevin Marvin – Joe Biden

At a young age I became enamored with the policies and politics of the Democratic party.  As the son of a public-school custodian, I gained an appreciation for how Democrats were the party of all people; always advocating for fair wages, retirement benefits, and safe working conditions for blue-collar families.  This led me to live a life of activism, first as a young Democrat activist at Michigan State University, then as an elementary teacher and Union leader in Mt. Clemens Community Schools, to now as a staff member at the Michigan Education Association.  It is a great honor and privilege to serve the 13th District Democrats.
