LANSING — Here is what’s in and out for 2024, according to Michigan Republicans. In: having “a complete lack of principles” and embracing dangerous election conspiracy theories. Out: staying in Michigan. The mitten might be in the midst of a winter storm, but the Michigan GOP Senate Showdown is only heating up.
Here’s the latest on this “doozy” of a primary:
- James Craig called Mike Rogers a “career politician” who will “do anything and say anything to get power.”
- Rogers bashed the Michigan Republican Party, saying it needs to “get its act together.”
- Craig ripped Rogers and Meijer apart, calling them “damaged goods” who “had their shot in DC, and they wasted it.”
- Sandy Pensler ridiculed Rogers for being a “hack,” saying he has “a complete lack of principles” and “does whatever benefits him.”
- Detroit News’ conservative editorial editor Nolan Finley slammed Rogers for embracing dangerous election conspiracy theories, saying “it’s really unfortunate that folks feel compelled, in order to win a primary, to have to cast doubt on the integrity of our election system.”
- Finley didn’t stop there, criticizing Rogers for “folding” and “following the pack” by endorsing Donald Trump for President.
- Rogers took direct aim at his opponents, saying they’re “throwing rocks” and he is the “clear leader.”

Talk of the Town: Rogers: “I would dispute your point that there isn’t a clear leader. That clear leader is us… All of those folks are throwing rocks.”
