LANSING — Another week, another “clash” between Michigan Republicans in their “strikingly candid and aggressive” Senate Showdown.
Here’s the latest on the Michigan Republicans’ “caustic” and “radioactive” intra-party fight:
- Peter Meijer took aim at national Republicans, claiming the NRSC told him that Michigan is “not winnable” for Republicans. Meijer added, “the reality is, when it comes to Washington, they just don’t view Michigan as a winnable race, they view it as damage control and mitigation, they’d rather have somebody who just kind of plays by the rules, is willing to sit quiet…”
- Mike Rogers scoffed at Peter Meijer’s and James Craig’s campaigns, saying “…we’re not paying attention… I just think it’s not their time… They’re probably better, better suited for other offices at this time.”
- Peter Meijer mocked the National Republican Senatorial Committee’s criticisms of him, responding “if there’s anyone who understands what motivates and enthuses the base, it’s certainly a bunch of folks sitting in Washington DC poring over polling.”
