LANSING — Today marks the second anniversary of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and to date, $9.4 billion of funding has been announced and headed to Michigan for more than 375 projects – all of which Peter Meijer opposed. In Congress, Meijer voted against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill – saying no to billions of dollars for Michigan roads, bridges, high-speed internet, public transit, ports, airports, and pollution cleanup.
Here’s a few of the many critical investments that Meijer voted against:
- Soo Locks upgrades: will connect Lake Superior and the Great Lakes, an entry point to the country for commerce, military, and agriculture.
- I-375 freeway replacements: will replace freeway with lower-speed boulevard with pedestrian walkways.
- Lafayette Bascule Bridge replacements: will support transportation for the Great Lakes Bay Region.
