Michigan Dems and the Biden-Harris Administration are investing billions to fix the damn roads in Michigan, and this is just the beginning
LANSING — Today, Democrats cut the ribbon for the grand opening of the new and improved Second Avenue bridge, after it underwent construction because of groundbreaking Democratic investment in Michigan infrastructure. Thanks to the Biden-Harris Administration’s landmark legislation and Democrats in the state, this historic bridge will play a key role in revitalizing Detroit, and in turn, the whole region.
“This is a crystal clear example of how Democrats are delivering for Michiganders – investing in world-class infrastructure that matches our world-class state,” said Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes. “Along with the Biden-Harris administration, Michigan Democrats are dedicated to fixing the damn roads and creating infrastructure that helps grow communities. We are grateful for the national and state Democratic leaders who championed this project from the beginning and are now getting the job done.”
The Second Avenue Bridge is just one part of the $2 billion dollar project to strengthen roads and bridges on I-94 through Detroit. The bridge has one lane in each direction, walking paths, and biking paths to create a pedestrian-friendly and environmentally sustainable connector between the Wayne State campus area and Tech Town business park.
What is clear is that the Biden-Harris Administration and Democrats are helping to grow the economy and local communities with this historic investment across Michigan for safer, more sustainable infrastructure.
