The July jobs report released today showed that the U.S. economy added 528,000 new jobs in July, which surpassed expectations. In response to this strong job growth thanks to President Biden and Democrats’ leadership, Michigan Democratic Party Spokesperson Alyssa Bradley released the following statement:
“President Biden’s economic plan to build the economy from the bottom up and middle out is making real progress—we have now fully recovered all the jobs lost during the pandemic and the unemployment rate is the lowest it’s been in 50 years. Today’s job report shows that more and more families have the peace of mind that a paycheck provides, but President Biden and Democrats know we still have more work to do to make sure the economy is working for everyone–that’s why they remain laser-focused on tackling inflation and cutting costs everywhere from prescription drugs to gas pumps for working families.
“Meanwhile, every single Michigan Republican continues to vote against legislation to help lower costs and prevent corporate price gouging. The contrast is clear: While Democrats have real solutions, Republicans’ are more focused on their out of touch, dangerous agenda than helping Michiganders.”
