Trump-backed candidate for 63rd Michigan House District made claims
LANSING – Another official review, another clean bill for the 2020 election. Another Republican wasting taxpayer resources espousing false claims.
Republican Jacky Eubanks, who is running for 63rd House District covering parts of Macomb and St. Clair counties, has made unfounded and wildly inaccurate claims about the results of the 2020 election in Michigan in which President Joe Biden defeated former President Donald Trump, according to a Michigan State Police report detailed by The Detroit News.
The state police findings were the result of an investigation into Eubanks’ false allegations of wrongdoing in the 2020 election. She was the leader of a volunteer effort to check election records in Macomb County last year.
Numerous audits, and now a state police review into Eubanks’ door-to-door canvass of Chesterfield Township, have consistently said Biden won a free and fair election in 2020. Lavora Barnes, chair of the Michigan Democratic Party, renewed her calls on Republicans to denounce remarks like those made by Eubanks, who is endorsed by Trump.
“This latest rebuke by the Michigan State Police shows once again some Michigan Republicans aren’t just stuck in 2020, they are stuck in a completely fabricated, alternate reality,” Barnes said. “Meanwhile Democratic leaders in Michigan – Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Attorney General Dana Nessel, and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson – are focused on the future and taking on the tough fights for Michigan families and fighting for the issues they actually care about.”
Eubanks also made headlines earlier this year after she told the host of the Church Militant Media program that birth control should not be legal.
