Last night in Detroit, Mayor Mike Duggan delivered his State of the City address and touted the reduction in violent crime that the city has experienced since James Craig left his post as chief of Detroit Police Department. Duggan also highlighted the more collaborative posture the department has after Craig’s departure, allowing for DPD, prosecutors, and judges to work more closely to keep our communities safe.
Duggan’s address explained that Detroit has been better off since James Craig entered retirement. Homicides and non-fatal shoots are down 23% and 27% respectively.
