The Michigan Democratic Party released the following statement on behalf of Chair Lavora Barnes after President Biden struck a historic bipartisan agreement on an infrastructure deal.
“Elected on a promise to find common ground and get things done, President Biden has delivered. After four years of gridlock spearheaded by the previous president and Republicans, today’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework is the largest investment in our infrastructure in a century. It’s a historic investment in public transit, clean energy transmission, clean drinking water, and it’s going to make life better for millions of people, while positioning American workers, farmers, and businesses to compete and win in the 21st century.
“The last four months under President Biden and Democrats have shown what is possible when we have competent leadership at the helm. From containing a deadly pandemic to investing in our future, the message to the American people is clear: When it matters most, Democrats deliver.”
