Blue Tiger Projects of Michigan Democratic Clubs, Caucuses, and Local Parties

  • The MDP Caucus MIADC's Blue Tiger food drive project delivered 500 lbs. of food to the Gleaners Food Bank in Pontiac.
  • The Livingston County Party recently spent a Sunday afternoon making lap robes for the veterans at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor.
  • Alger County Party took care of their Adopt-A-Highway stretch along M-28 on Au Train Bay this month.  On September 19th the Shiawasee County Party did the same on a section of M-52.
  • The Grand Traverse Democrats and Livingston County Democrats participated in the September Adopt-A-Highway program, as well as the Grand Traverse County Democrats and the Delta County Dems.
  • The Harbor Country Progessive Democratic Club took advantage of an opportunity to help FEED THE CHILDREN. On September 30th they were at the distribution center helping to box needed items for families all over the Great Lakes area.  
  • The Chippewa County Blue Tigers continue to donate time and resources to help the Health Access Coalition provide free health care to the uninsured.
  • The Alpena County Democrat Party Blue Tigers has sponsored community educational forums, one on health care and one on the economy.
  • Members of the  Grand Traverse County Democratic Party continues to volunteer their time to cover two shifts at the State Theatre in Traverse City, a 501 C (3), 2 days a month throughout 2009.
  • The Genesee County Young Democrats have started an annual scholarship to be awarded each year to a county high school graduate.  
  • Members of the Benzie County Blue Tigers Dems have been helping economically depressed areas of the county with the set up and clean up for community events.

 

CONSIDER THESE PROJECTS:

 

      · Bake cookies for the Fire House

      · Donate books to a hospital

      · Walk the dogs at an animal shelter

      · Contact the volunteer coordinator at a local hospital. We can bring books to patients, sit and talk with patients, or read to patients.

      · Collect and deliver food and toiletries to shut-ins

      · Host non-partisan educational programs     

      · Provide office support for local non-profits

      · Donate benches and or landscaping skills to the library or nature center

      · Volunteer for Adopt-A-Highway

      · Volunteer for Adopt-A-Park

      · Contact a homeless shelter and help keep a program going … or start one
